Hi, My name is Sarah. I am from the Chicagoland area. My husband and I moved to Flower Mound, Texas in search of warmer weather and new adventures. I have been a speech pathologist since I graduated from Calvin College in 2014 with my Masters degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
Throughout my childhood, I struggled to overcome Selective Mutism, a rare childhood disorder characterized by a child's inability to communicate in social settings (e.g., school, play groups, etc.). I remember the helpless feeling of not being able to communicate with others and the impact that it had on my social life. This life experience inspired my interest in pursuing a career where I could advocate for and provide treatment to people of all ages struggling with communication difficulties.
In my practice, I have had the opportunity to serve clients in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, at daycares, at schools, and in the community. I love the challenge of serving the differing needs of both adults and children. I am passionate about connecting with families to give them the tools needed to help their loved one achieve their highest potential for success.
I am excited to be part of Flower Mound Speech Therapy's team. I look forward to getting to know you and guiding your road to success!
